Maksal's origin dates back to 1950 when the first copper tubing was produced on the present site in Springs, fifty kilometers east of Johannesburg.

The Copper Tube Division produces copper tube and copper capillary fittings and supplies the local and international markets.

Its branches in Cape Town, Durban, East London, Port Elizabeth and Springs provide excellent network facilities for product distribution throughout Southern Africa. Nearby container depots provide efficient distribution of containerized products for overseas customers.

The company provides formal and practical training on the use of Maksal products to various segments of the building industry, including consulting engineers, architects, municipal engineers, quantity surveyors and plumbers. Separate courses are provided for various segments of the industry with emphasis placed on different aspects as the needs of delegates may demand.
